==== Alerts (Unread Messages to You) ====

**Alerts** let you know when there is a new message posted to you, in the following situations:

  * Someone quotes you in a message.
  * Someone [[tagging_another_member|tags]] you in a message.
  * You receive a new private message.
  * Someone replies to a thread you started.

You can change these settings by going to your User Control Panel and clicking on Alert Settings.
  
**__The Alerts Menu__** \\
The Alerts menu is found in the top left-hand corner of the home page.

When you click on the Alerts (#) link, a pop up window will open, listing the messages you have received.

  -__Thread Replies__  Clicking on the link for a thread reply will take you directly to that message.
  -__Private Messages__  Clicking on the link for a private message will take you directly to the new Private Message into your User Control Panel.  Note that you can also access your private messages from the link to the right of the page, or from the user control panel. __More Options__\\
There are also two options at the bottom of the Alerts pop up:

  - __View Alerts__ Allows you to view the Alerts in a full-screen view. This option takes you to the User Control Panel.  You can read more about the Control Panel [[https://tasqweb.com/litwiki/doku.php?id=user_control_panel_cp|here]].
  -  __Delete All__ From the pop-up alerts options, you can also delete all alerts.
