**IMPORTANT NOTE:** In this modern era of polarized and divisive politics and extreme ideologies, the forum staff has decided that TheLitForum.com would be better served by focusing on the literary and related topics for which it was created. Consequently, topics of a current political nature, or that promote or attack a particular ideology, are no longer permitted on the forum. There are plenty of other places on the web to discuss politics and push ideological points of view. From now on, such posts will be removed.

Note, however, that the following are still permitted:

  -     Topics of a historical political nature, provided they are primarily for the historical aspect, or are directly related to literary research.
  -     Discussions of current events that are not of a political or ideological nature.

We realize that there may be significant grey areas in relation to what is or isn't political or ideological in nature, and that topics which of themselves are not political may still have political aspects (eg. when it comes to government policy related to them), so whether a post is acceptable or not will be at the discretion of staff.
